Hello! My name is Kathy. I began working at Especially for Children in 2007 and worked as a preschool teacher and Assistant Director before becoming Director of EFC’s Bloomington center. I have always had a passion for working with young children and am fascinated by how much learning and growing takes place in these important early years. Being the Director of a smaller center allows me the opportunity to spend time in all the classrooms and get know all the children and families. I have a BS degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Pre-primary education from Bemidji State University. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my two daughters, Addie and Mia, and my husband, Tim. Spending time with my family and friends is important to me. I enjoy going for walks, boating and spending time outdoors. I look forward to meeting you and your family!
Hi my name is Alyce and I work in the infant classroom. I have been working as an infant teacher for 2 years and love watching them grow. I find it very fascinating to see how much children learn in their first year of life. Outside of work I love taking care of my five “fur babies”, camping and spending time with family and friends.
My name is Kari and I have been with EFC since January of 2006. I have previously volunteered at my church nursery, Children’s World and Even Start Early Childhood Family Literacy Program. I get to help in all classrooms and get to know all the children and families. In my free time I enjoy planting flowers in the summer and spending time with my family and relatives.
Hello, my name is Angel. I grew up in the Eau Claire area of Wisconsin. I earned my A.A.S in Early Childhood Education in 2013 and my bachelor’s in Human Development and Family Studies in 2019. I have worked with children and families since 2011. I made the move to Minneapolis in summer 2019 to pursue professional goals. In my free time, I am an avid traveler. I have travelled to over 20 US states and over a dozen national parks. To-date, my top three experiences include: completing Angel’s Landing hike in Zion National Park, witnessing the 2017 solar eclipse in Teton National Park, and free diving with sharks off the coast of Oahu Hawaii.
Hi my name is Kari and I have been teaching children for over 8 years. I love seeing children learn new things and exploring the environment around them. I have a degree in teaching and social work from the University of St. Catherine’s. I also have a daughter who is 6. I love working with children and have fun while doing it!
My name is Hope and I have been teaching children since 2007 and with EFC since May of 2013. I enjoy nature and the outdoors spending time camping, fishing and riding my dirt bike. Prior to becoming a teacher, I was an auto mechanic and still like tinkering with engines. I have four children of my own, three of whom are in high school and one in 3rd grade. I really enjoy working with children. I find it fun, challenging, energetic and rewarding.
I have always had a passion for learning and wanted to be a teacher from a young age. I graduated from UMD with a major in elementary education and a minor in music education. I have over 30 years of experience caring for, teaching, and serving children in public and private schools and my home. My husband and I celebrated our 40th anniversary in 2016. We have two adult children but no grandchildren yet. I like to spend my free time outdoors hiking, camping, and gardening.
I’ve been professionally working with children since I was nineteen. I currently have my BS in Early Childhood Development. I simply love working with children and watching their curiosity grow. At home, I own pet cats and rabbits but am really interested in whales, especially orcas!
I am very excited to be working in the preschool classroom here at Bloomington EFC. I have been married for 41 years and have 4 children (3 girls and 1 boy) and am very proud to be a grandmother to 7 grandsons. I have been in the child care business for over 27 years. I was raised in Bloomington and raised my children here as well. My interests are Gopher and Wild Hockey, bowling and gong to movies. I also work part time at Pottery Barn in Edina. I am looking forward to working with and nurturing your child.
EFC has been a great place for my child to learn and grow. The staff is always so warm and welcoming. My child’s classroom is very stimulating and provides many opportunities for him to interact with other children.
Especially for Children is the first child care center my children have been to. My daughter was 19 months and my son was 4. They are now 2 ½ and 5. It was a new experience to bring my children to an all day center but it was the best decision I have made for my children. I would like to say that the staff at the Bloomington center are phenomenal!!! I couldn’t ask for a more loving, smart and creative bunch of gals. I feel comfortable everyday leaving my children with them. The curriculum is age appropriate and I feel my children are at a comfortable educational level. Both my children love to go to school and learn new things and they do because of the friendly staff, daily lesson plans and structure they teach my children help them grow every day. I recommend Bloomington Especially for Children to anyone who is considering child care.
