24 Feb Building resilience in children, continued
In our Especially for Parents article this month, we discussed the importance of building resilience in children. Dr. Kenneth Ginsburg, M.D., M.S. Ed, is a pediatrician at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and a Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He has written and spoken extensively on the subject of resiliency in children and teenagers and has developed the seven “C”s of resilience.
View the video below to learn more about the seven “C”s: competence, confidence, connections, character, contribution, coping and control. (Note: Some of this presentation is directed at the parents of teenagers, but may still be helpful for the parents of young children. We will all be there someday!)
