A Good Time to Get Off Track

A Good Time to Get Off Track

Guest post by Angie Williams

With the weather finally warming up, my daughter and I have had the chance to get out for a few walks around the neighborhood. On our first walk of the season, she spent much of the time meandering up people’s driveways and sidewalks as well as splashing in the water of every puddle we passed. She is 19 months, so with these detours we did not make much progress in terms of distance. But taking our time and allowing her to explore our block in her own way was a breath of fresh air after this difficult winter.

Now that spring has arrived, instead of trying to get from point A to point B as quickly as possible, I look forward to getting a bit off track, taking more time for our journeys and observing Abby as she discovers the (outdoor!) world.
